The Branson School is an independent high school occupying seventeen acres of hilly terrain in the residential community of Ross, California, just north of San Francisco. The new 3,300 s.f. Fine Arts Center is located on the upper part of campus, adjacent to the existing fine arts building, which was renovated as part of the project. The new Fine Arts Center nestles in among mature trees and is arranged in concert with the existing building to form a courtyard around a large sculptural oak tree. The courtyard is used for outdoor performances and teaching. The new buildings provide a large music hall, a sculpture studio and a digital media lab. The new Fine Arts Center reclaims a once underutilized area of the campus while providing much needed space for arts instruction and performances, both indoors and out. |
